What is a Google review card and how does it work? +
It's a wallet-sized card with an NFC chip inside, programmed with your business's Google review link. Your customer taps it with their phone and your Google review page opens straight away, ready for them to leave a rating. No app, no searching, no typing.
Do my customers need an app, and which phones work? +
No app needed. iPhone XR, XS and newer, and most Android phones with NFC switched on, read the card automatically. Older iPhones (8 and earlier, and the original X) can't read NFC tags in the background, so for those customers you can still share your review link the usual way.
Do I need a Google Business Profile? +
Yes. The card opens your business's Google review page, so your business needs a listing on Google Maps. If you don't have one, it's free to set up at business.google.com. Order once your listing is verified and showing on Google Maps.
I'm not sure if my business is on Google. Can you check? +
Yes. Email support@businessreviewcards.co.nz with your business name and town, and we'll check for you before you order.
What if I order and my business isn't on Google yet? +
We'll contact you before programming anything. We can hold your order until your listing is live, or give you a full refund. It's your choice.
What details do I need at checkout? +
Just your business name, town or suburb, and delivery details. If you add your Google Maps link, we'll go straight ahead and program your card. If you skip it, we'll find your Google listing and email you to confirm it before programming.
How do I find my Google Maps link? (optional) +
Search your business on Google Maps and open your listing. On mobile, tap Share, then Copy link. On desktop, copy the address from your browser bar. Either the short link (maps.app.goo.gl/…) or the full link (google.com/maps/…) works.
How long does delivery take? +
We program, lock, test and dispatch your card within 2–3 business days of your order (or of confirming your listing, if we need to check it with you). It's sent by NZ Post and usually arrives 1–3 business days later, anywhere in New Zealand.
What's your guarantee? +
Every card is tested before it's posted. If it doesn't work when it arrives, or the chip stops working within 12 months of normal use, we'll replace it free. Just email us a short video of the card not working.
What if my Google review link changes? +
It's uncommon, but Google can occasionally change a review link, for example if a listing is removed and recreated. If that happens to your business within 12 months, we'll send you a new card free.
Can someone tamper with or reprogram my card? +
No. Each card is password-locked after programming. Only we hold the password, so nobody can change where your card points.
Can I order more than one card? +
Yes. Order 2 or more and shipping is free. Choose all white, all black or a mix at checkout. For larger orders (10+), email us at support@businessreviewcards.co.nz.
Are prices GST inclusive? Is there a subscription? +
All prices shown include GST, and you'll get a GST receipt from Thrive Local NZ Ltd. It's a one-off purchase: no subscription, no ongoing fees.
